Scoping the options for your disaster recovery solution

Cloud technology and disaster recovery as a service is moving so fast that businesses need to keep finding out about what’s trending if they want the best of what’s available. If you’re up to speed with what’s come onto the market since your last evaluation, you’ll be in the best position to make solid disaster recovery choices.

Leading cloud data management innovator, Rubrik, explains three types of disaster recovery options currently available:

  1. On-premises to co-location or private cloud
  2. On-premises to a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or Cloud Service Provider (CSP)
  3. On-premises to multi-cloud (public and private)

Once you’ve established the type of disaster recovery that would suit your business, you also have to consider how best to move your workload to the cloud provider’s site, and which tools they make available to you.

Possible tools include migration tools, replication tools and simple backup and recovery tools. The best providers offer innovative tools that make the transition easy and safe.

A simple, complete solution can turn out to be more cost effective than combining services that haven’t been designed for each other, so do your due diligence and look out for new, comprehensive solutions.
